#THEBIGSISTERCONVERSATION sleepover A review What makes a group of rural teenagers and young women want to spend converse at a black owned guest house for an evening in pyjamas to converse about their talents, body insecurities, dating, self-confidence, entrepreneurship and career? It’s a loophole picked up by a rural girl named Rebecca Phala to establish a rural sisterhood hub that will birth an era of unstoppable focused content women #THEBIGSISTERCONVERSATION took place on the Saturday evening of the 29 th of October 2018 at Molepa Guest House in the Polokwane CBD.The event was graced by 10 young women from rural areas of Limpopo ranging from as Ga Mamabolo to Burgesfort. Having battled bullying because she weighed bigger than every other class mate back in primary school and having never been told exactly why she was to keep away from boys, Rebecca Phala a current affairs Talkshow broadcaster and feminist decided to change the status quo by establishing a sibling convergence platform wherein older women can guide the younger ones into adulting far better than they did. #TheBigSisterConversation encapsulates activities that include a sleepover, fun day celebrations, indeginous games and female centered school holidays camp. "we hope to champion rural girls dreams with a platform made for them to tackle pregnancy, boys, dating, period pains, menstrual cups, careers, entrepreneurship and motivation" says Rebecca. Rebecca has partnered with Kea Motlokwa also a female broadcaster, Tumelo Mmoa an author and other women from different walks of life, who will also help out with the project as big sisters.
